Garage Roller Door 🚪 Installation 🛠️ Guide

This guide explains how to install a Series A roller door. Follow these steps carefully to ensure a correct and safe installation.

PART 1: Measuring

Measure the Opening

Measure the width of the opening between the columns.

Mark the Center

Mark the center of the opening.

Mark the Daylight Opening

Using the center point, mark out the daylight opening.
Note: Subtract the track widths from this measurement to determine the final roller door width.

PART 2: Door Jambs

Align the Door Jamb

Align the door jamb with the mark on the ground.

Mark the Intersection

Place a mark where the jamb meets the rafter.

Extend the Mark

Use a combination square to extend the mark accurately.

Cut Along the Lines

Cut the door jamb along the marked lines.

Check for Level

Ensure the jamb is level and aligned with the marked concrete line.

Secure the Jamb

Tek the jamb onto the rafter securely.

Drill and Bolt

Step drill holes then bolt the jamb in place.

Tek the Side Girts

Tek the side girts onto the jamb and repeat these steps for the other side.

PART 3: Footings

Install Footing Brackets

Tek the roller door footing brackets onto the door jambs.

Mark the Position

Measure and mark 100mm (or as needed) from the slab edge.

Drill for Anchor

Drill the hole for the anchor bolt.

Insert the Anchor

Hammer in the anchor bolt.

Tighten the Anchor

Tighten using a rattle gun.

PART 4: Header

Mark the Roller Door Height

Mark the desired height of the roller door on the door jambs.

Tek Header Brackets

Tek the header brackets above the mark.

Install the Header Beam

Tek the header beam onto the header brackets.

PART 5: Bracket Arms

Measure the Door Radius

Measure the radius of the door.

Mark Above the Header

Place a mark above the header beam using the door radius.

Tek the Bracket Arm

Tek the bracket arm into place.

Drill for the Bolt

Step drill a bolt hole for the bracket.

Bolt the Bracket

Bolt the bracket securely into place.
Ensure brackets are bolted securely – incorrect installation is extremely hazardous.

PART 6: Tracks

Bend Track Ends

Bend up the track ends to prevent the door from catching.

Mark Track Height

Mark the correct track height on the door jamb.

Cut the Tracks

Cut the tracks to the required length.

Attach Track Brackets

Affix the track brackets securely.

Tek the Tracks

Tek the tracks onto the door jambs.

PART 7: Installing the Door

Lift the Door

Use a duct lift (or, if safe, manual lifting) to raise the roller door into place.

Secure the Door

Screw the roller door into position and tighten all fasteners.

Unwrap the Door

Unwrap the roller door once it's securely installed.

PART 8: Lock

Drill for the Lock

Step drill holes for the lock installation.

Test the Lock

Ensure the door locks properly; file the holes if necessary.

Confirm Security

Test the lock to confirm it functions correctly.
